snow hedgehog

Sunday Post ~ "No matter how long the winter, spring is sure to follow." -- Guinean proverb

Hebrews 11:1

P.S. I need to go away again. I hope temporarily. Rather than writing a long, poor-me post, I decided to leave you with this one. Using the keyboard is increasingly physically difficult. I do not know whether that's the beginning of something or the end of something, or what. Most of you can't imagine how much the smallest and/or silliest little things that have happened here on this blog, have brightened my moments or even my days, in these past difficult months. Thank you, and may God bless you.

Love,
Susie

Yeah Spring . . . I'm ready. I love the smile on your hedgehog. I just would not be that happy sitting in snow.

Yup, I'm ready for Spring too. Happy Sunday. :)

Hi.( I am standing the back of the "church" getting ready to make a quick exit and go play video games I just wanted to make sure you knew I was here.)

Blogger Squirl said...

Susie, taken at face value I love this quote. Taken for all of the other things it could mean, I love it even more.

Here's to your springtime after your long winter. Sun's gonna be here for you soon. :)

Love and hugs, sis.

Blogger Katy Barzedor said...

Nina said: "I love the smile on your hedgehog."

If that ain't a euphemism...well, then, it should be.

Blogger eclectic said...

BUCKY! It's church! Ssssshhhhhhh!! You're making me giggle, and mom's totally gonna come sit between us if you keep making me laugh.

Susie, it's spring here. Know how I know? Cadbury creme eggs are EVERYWHERE! Now what we need to do is find out what the metaphorical creme egg is to make the WTF winter go away. I propose we each eat as many as we can until the answer comes to us.

Anonymous Anonymous said...

BFE: Bwahhhhh. Hooray for euphemisms.

I think spring is not far off. I saw some cherry blossoms this morning. And that's not a euphemism for anything. I hope.

Happy Sunday, Susie.

that hedgehoggy smile says it all

Yes, happy Sunday, Susie.

I would gladly endure another year of winter if it meant that you could have WTF spring. And that's sayin' something, because I HATE the cold! :)

I ran across this little quote by Leo Buscaglia, and after reading your blog, I'd like to share it with you......

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring: all of which have the potential to turn a life around...

You mentioned how much you appreciate your blogging friends, and so I guess that little quote can be for them too....I pray you get strength, and heal, so you can come back to write on you blog again soon...Sending you a HUG!

If you get bored while you are waiting to feel better, email me. You don't have to type much, just type the word "dream" and I'll entertain you with one of my whacked-out (off blog) dreams and you don't even need to respond. Red sky at morning, sailor's take warning", even though I'm not a sailor. We'll have to put off that walk til tomorrow! The snow coming down is awfully pretty too--somehow I think you would have been able to capture it beautifully on camera..that and the pretty sunrise!

hello, dearest loyal friends and readers of . . . nothing new. i have tried to come up with something resembling a post, and get my arms to cooperate with the venture, but so far all i've got is 'oh, fuck.' i'll keep working on it. not in the best frame of mind, but i'll keep working on that, too. lots of docs in the next couple of weeks, maybe someone will have some good news.
xoxoxox

Hi Susie!! Happy Hump Day *snerk!* (Sorry, even tho' I'm middle-aged, that phrase always cracks me up in the most juvenile way...) We'll be looking over your shoulder at all those docs.

Anonymous Anonymous said...

Considering what you're going through, "Oh, fuck" is not a bad idea for a blog.

Still thinking of you and checking daily.

Anonymous Anonymous said...

I'm starting to dislike the hedgehog. It's not his fault.

Anonymous Anonymous said...

Hi Susie! So glad to see you back kicking and screaming, for even such a short post as "oh fuck". We could make a chant out of that for you...

Still keeping a daily hope and prayer for you, and hoping the upcoming doctor appointments mark a turning point.

Blogger Spilling Ink said...

Yay Susie!! I'm so glad to hear from you in comments! "Oh, fuck" totally qualifies as a real post. At least it does at my place:-)

Blogger Unknown said...

Oh crap! I was going to blog "Oh Fuck!" today... I can't do it now, it just wouldn't be original. Oh well... ;)

Blogger WILLIAM said...

IS the "Oh fuck" post like a "I can't believe this" type of post? Or maybe it's like "I just stubbed my toe" type of post....or maybe it's like "So what do you want to do tonight" type of post?

Prayers to you.

Anonymous Anonymous said...

Hello my dear. I think "oh fuck" is a totally wonderful and appropriate post too. It's good to see you this morning. I am thinking of you constantly. I pray all those doctors will have a clue. Love you.

Anonymous Anonymous said...

Damn! I totally want to keep with the "Oh f**k!" theme you've got going here in the comments, but I'm at work and am afraid Big Brother will flag me. So just know that I'm thinking it without the asterisks, okay?

I hope all the docs you're seeing are finding some answers for you. And only good answers! Thinking of you . . .

Blogger lawyerchik said...

Hey, Susie!! Glad to hear from you, even if it's just an "oh f**k" and more doctors.... Hope the news is at least useful - not that any news at all wouldn't be great, but it would be much nicer if the news was at least more than just stuff you already don't know.... (does that make sense? :) )

Anyway, have a great day, whatever it brings!!

Cheryl

P.S. My verification word is "ohzhxy." :) It reminds me of Big Bird's alphabet song from Sesame Street.....

Dunno what that hedgehog has got to be so darn cheerful about, is it being smug because he gets to be the first thing we see when we come to see if Susie is feeling better yet? Would very much like to see smug grin wiped off hedgehog's face and see him disappear in a flurry of posts about how WTF upped and melted away with the snow. Bloody hedgehog, he used to look so sweet and cheerful.

Blogger eclectic said...

Oh fuck -- I nearly missed hearing from Susie because I didn't read the comments carefully at first!! Take us with you to all those doctor appointments. Hi Lady! Monday mornin' and Katie and I just said a little prayer for you!

Hugs!

YOu could do an 'Oh fudge" post which would make us all try to suggest our best fudge memories--like this one. On one of our first dates, hubby and I went to Ontario Place. So much fun! He bought us each a BIG hunk of fudge. We realized the problem when we got in line for one of the rides--you can't exactly hold onto fudge and go on the ride so we gobbled down as much of the overly sweet concoctions and climbed aboard the big swinging ship. The fudge sat like a ROCK on our tummies--my hubby had eaten the lion's share of the fudge and was feeling it bad! The ship started to swing--and so did our tummies-his worse than mine--he said with each major swing "ooooh the fuuudge" --I was laughing so hard I was crying--he was clutching his stomach and trying to maintain its contents...aaaah memories...

Needless to say, we haven't gone out of our way to eat large hunks of fudge since. That was almost 9 years ago now and I still remember it like yesterday...I can still see his face... :)

xxoo

Hey, Susie: Just stopping in to see how things are, and to say "hello" and "Happy Friday." In minor news of no import, my sprained ankle is doing much better. I sprained it running with my dog in the park 12 days ago. He was chasing a squirrel, and I was hanging onto the leash.... (I have to say, though: I did a near-perfect shoulder roll following the spraining. Landed flat on my back looking up at beautiful blue sky! :))

Now, if that doesn't make you at least giggle, I didn't tell it right.

Like others I just thought I would stop by to say hello and let you know that I still stop by every now and then hoping to catch an update. Till then may the sun be strong and your strength be stronger.

Susie,
Can't blame you for having nothing to say. I rarely think of anything that I believe to be worthy of posting. But I speak for the masses when I say we long for a word from dear you.

Hi Suzie. Today I really noticed the grass is looking a little greener and the scent of spring soil. I hope you and the family are enjoying spring too.

My soul keeps pushing, trying to force good health and healing toward you, or to force our Somone Up There to force it.

I hate that it is apparently not working the way I'd wish.

But you, you I think = fabulous. Thinking of Susie and her writing always brings a warmth, a grin-- and then the fierce soulpush.

I praypraypray you have a break in the stormclouds, and at at the very least some times that are better than "oh fuck".

Still praying for you, internet friend.
