I Thank Y'all Kindly for Coming
I appreciate your attendance at this blogger pity party. Or this "blogger is pitiful" party. I'll keep sentences short and sweet, and try to offer you a nice spread in return for your kindness.
Care to wet your whistle?
I splurged; y'all are worth it!
Oh, who brought the lovely fruit? Is Plum here?
Someone has raided the garden to share with us.
Roast beast, anyone?
Eclectic? We need a refill on the chips, here, darlin'.
Let us eat cake!
Who brought these, um, carrots?
38 heads are better than one . . .
GAH! And it's LadyBug's birthday! Go wish her some BIG wishes! If you don't know where to find her, go to my previous post's comments and just click on her. She likes that ;)
Ooooh...nice fixins Susie!
Susie, you're gonna need more cake than that...
Holy shizz, that carrot is hung! Super photo collage, Susie.
::running in::
Am I late? Sorry. I was putting the finishing touches on the Inspiration Soup and the Bean and Mushroom Salad.
Let's par-tay, ya'll!
Don't mind if I do come in! Thanks for havin' us! *pulls chair up to buffet*
Debate renews over defending pregnant women who use illegal drugs
Courtesy of Medical News Today comes this story from the Baltimore Sun about women who are prosecuted for taking illegal drugs while pregnant.
Hey, you have a great blog here! I'm definitely going to bookmark you!
I have a spa site/blog. It pretty much covers
spa related stuff.
Come and check it out if you get time :-)
WHOA. Those are some well-hung carrots.
I dig a blog block party!
It's always nice to be thanked for coming.
And why is it that I expect those carrots to turn up dancin' in a Peter Gabriel video?
Wow Susie! Your party's so posh you got all these lovely anonymous folks inviting themselves over. Let's not talk to them -- gatecrashers are rude! In fact, that's why I let the chip bowl dwindle, I was tired of sharing with them. But for the REST of us, the chips (and SALSA!) are out on the deck. C'mon, I'll show you!
Everything looks wonderful.
The Immovable Feast! A Cornucopia of delights. Can I have some shrimp? I really dig that hot sauce that goes with it.
weetzie, aw shucks, 'tweren't nothin' ;)
CK, it was bigger, before JessicaRabbit jumped out of it :)
crayoneater, hung? Whatever do you mean?
ladybug, you make the nicest dishes. Did you have this at the last church social? Happy, happy Birthday, baby . . .
ern, pass the dip there, wouldja?
estefania, here, I'll pour . . .
anon, eclectic is going to throw your ass out now. I am highly offended by your gatecrashing, and by your suggestion that we will be using tramadol and/or cialis at this party. It is NOT that kind of party. You could have brought a freakin' covered dish like all the rest.
kitty, oh? He was a . . . carrot top?
kalki, I am so glad you could come. Always glad for that.
bucky, I try to be polite in all situations.
this amusement never ends, and now I am getting Peter Gabriel and Mr. Wu all mixed up: Sledgehammaaaaaaaaaaahhhh!
eclectic, I so appreciate your bouncer qualities. Or bouncy qualities. You know'm sayin'...
kranki, oh, thank you, love. Please do help yourself.
LB, absolutely! There's plenty more where these came from :)
Loving the carrots.
See, Southern Fried... now that's just what we were afraid of. It's NOT *that* kind of party. ;)
No, Susie. At the last church social, I brought this lovely Peach Melba.
Pass the booze!
sfg! Listen to eclectic! That is just wrong.
ladybug, who KNEW you were so good in the kitchen? I mean, I knew you were good in other rooms, but...
ARE YOU ALL CHECKING LADYBUG'S LINKS HERE? THEY'RE HI-LARIOUS!
WHOA!
I've been gone for a while, I know ... but I didn't expect a welcome back party! Susie, you're great :)
Next party, I'm cooking ;)
Dang, Susie, you're sure getting popular with the spammers (and the spammers are getting ever more creative...)
Everything looks awesome. What a wonderful spread! Trust in Super Susie to throw a lovely party! Of course, I'll bring any fruit required.
Those carrots are, um, deep. Wow.
Looks like you thought of everything and now you've gone and made me hungry. Scrumptous!
damon, SURPRISE! heh, forgot to yell that. You've got a deal, on cooking next time.
andrea, well, it's nice to be popular with someone. Really, I'm thinking of using that "copy this word" trick that blogger offers now. An extra step for legit commenters, but would keep out the riff-raff. That is, IF I ever get to write an actual post on here again.
momo, welcome, and thanks for the 4-1-1 on the cupcakes :)
plum!, don't go TOO deep with those carrots, you know'm sayin' . . .
dashababy, dig in!
y'all, thanks for coming. Party all you want; who wants to be in charge of music? Just tell us what it is we're listening to, so we'll know whether to chill, or dance, or whatever . . .
I have made my daily attempt (Sat.) at saving something in blogger. Still can't. And I have written them my daily plea for help. Still no response. Bucky told me about a way to download a blogger somethin'or-other right into Word, so I could post directly from there, but so far that hasn't worked either. Still trying. I would say "I'll keep you posted," but if I could post, I wouldn't be up in here whining like this! Back to the party!
Can I be in charge of the music? Oh, I wanna be in charge of the music!
I promise to be nice. Okay, no I don't. But I do promise to start out with some Motown.
In honor of Susie's weird Blogger difficulties, I say we start this party with:
Marvin Gaye: "Ain't That Peculiar"
i'll play DJ... and i promise, no opera!
bucky and operagirl, you two work together well, you can be the tunemeisters! Excellent first choice, Bucky! peculiar as can be . . .
Susie - I came across your blog and I find it simply wonderful. You have style and a great sense of humor. -- Densie
I wonder if why you cant save anymore is that your blogger account if 'full' of saved stuff and there is no more room left. I dont know much about blogger or computers, just a thought.
I'm lovin this party! great food, deck, music...who could ask for more?
Man, I missed the party!
Jeez, Louise! What is up with all the comment spam goin' around lately!? It makes me think about blocking anon comments, but then someone like Denise goes and says something so sweet!
Good luck with the blogger probs. *fingers crossed*
Opera gal, we need somethin' FONKY up in here...whatcha got?
I propose a triple crown of:
James Brown "Mother Popcorn"
Tower of Power "What is Hip?"
Sly and the Family Stone "Thank You (Falletinme Be Mice Elf Agin)"
What, I missed the party???
But I brought guacamole and Aaron Neville to help Bucky with the music!
Well fine, I can totally think of something to do with Aaron and guacamole... go ahead and sweat behind your knees now Susie!
It is a pity I didn't make it to this party because I love shrimp and sexy carrots.
anon, is it Densie or Denise? Either way, welcome, and thank you for saying such nice things :)
lawbrat, I truly don't know what the problem is; I don't think you can "fill up" your blogger account, but they're not contacting me -- yet. Party on!
mrsmogul, oh, no, you're good. The party will go on until Sunday morning, when we'll break for a moment of inspirational something-or-other. Thanks for stopping in :)
ern, keep 'em crossed; so far blogger help/support is ignoring my plaintive wails . . .
bucky, good work; it is gettin' funky up in here now!
sierrabella, hands off Aaron! You can have the guac; this party ain't over til it's over *Bucky, throw some Lenny Kravitz on there, wouldja?
hoss, it's not too late! Have some sexy shrimp...
Thanks for hosting. Sorry I missed it.
oops...it is Denise...guess I typed too fast. Thanks ern for the compliment!
is there any cake left? my sweet tooth is hungry.
(so is my carrot, actually.)
william, I love to have parties here; I don't have to clean nearly as much as when I have one in realworld, so there will be more, and I'll make sure you're invited.
Denise! nice to meetcha :)
closet metro, we all should try to get at least 5 veggies in per day; I mean, so they say . . .
And did you know that carrot cake is a vegetable?
Tequila shooters! It's hard to keep a good party hopping on a Sunday night, so I brought a couple bottles of 'tekilla' to sorta help things along. Limes, salt...*whew*...there we go!
